Treinta y Tres is a city located in the department of the same name in eastern Uruguay.
It was founded in 1853 and owes its name to the Treinta y Tres Orientales, a group of patriots who fought for the independence of Uruguay.
It is known for being an important commercial and service center in the region.
In the city there are several historical sites such as the Iglesia Matriz, the House of Culture and the Heritage Museum. It is also a starting point to explore the natural beauty of the area, including the Laguna Merín and Cerro Arequita.
