Santa Lucía is a city located in the department of Canelones, about 36 km east of Montevideo.
It is known for its rich history and colonial charm, with cobbled streets, old houses, and beautiful squares.
Among its tourist attractions is the church of Santa Lucía del Este, built in 1733, the "Carlos M. Narváez" Regional Museum, the Paseo del Ferrocarril and the Artigas Park. In addition, the city is an important center of agricultural production and has a wide gastronomic and wine offer in its surroundings.
To get to Santa Lucía from Montevideo, you can take Route 5 to the east and then turn off towards Route 11.
It can also be accessed through the Interbalnearia Route, which connects Montevideo with the Gold Coast and passes through the city. By public transport, there are several bus companies that provide services from Montevideo and other nearby cities.
