Tourism in San Carlos

San Carlos is a city located in the department of Maldonado, in the southeast of Uruguay.

Known as "the gateway" to the touristic region of Punta del Este, it is a tourist city par excellence that offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and water sports.

It also has an important cultural offer, with numerous festivals and events throughout the year. San Carlos is known for its picturesque old town, with colonial buildings and typical architecture of the region.

The city is located about 35 km from Punta del Este and about 150 km from Montevideo.
