Location of Melo

Melo is a city located in the department of Cerro Largo, in eastern Uruguay.

It is located about 378 km from the capital, Montevideo, and about 75 km from the border city of Aceguá, which connects with the Brazilian city of Jaguarão.

The city is located in a transition zone between the region of the mountains and the plains, surrounded by gentle hills and the Cuchilla Grande.

Melo is strategically located in the center of the corridor that connects Montevideo with Porto Alegre, Brazil. This makes it an important point for the distribution of goods and services in the region.

The city is also a center for rural and adventure tourism, as it is located in the Lake District, with numerous natural parks and protected areas nearby.
