Location of Libertad

Libertad is a city located in the department of San José, in southern Uruguay.

It is located about 45 km south of Montevideo, the capital of the country. It limits to the east with the city of San José de Mayo, the departmental capital, and to the west with the city of Rodríguez. Libertad is located about 20 km north of the Kiyú resort, on the Río de la Plata.

The city is located in a rural area with a landscape of meadows and cultivated fields that are characteristic of the interior of Uruguay.
