Florida is a department located in the center-south of Uruguay, bordered to the north by Lavalleja, to the east by Treinta y Tres y Rocha, to the south by Canelones and to the west by Durazno.
Its capital, the city of Florida, is located about 90 kilometers north of Montevideo and is the most important city in the department.
Florida is located in an area of hills and mountains, with beautiful natural landscapes such as Cuchilla Grande and Cerro del Verdún. The Santa Lucía River crosses the department and offers recreational options such as boat rides and sport fishing.
