Solymar is a coastal town located in the department of Canelones, Uruguay.
It is a popular tourist destination due to its white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, as well as its tourist and gastronomic services.
Among its main attractions is the Solymar beach, ideal for practicing water sports such as surfing and windsurfing.
You can also visit the Plaza de los Fundadores, a green space that honors the first settlers of the area.
To get to Solymar from Montevideo, you can take Ruta Interbalnearia to the east and then take exit 38. It can also be accessed via Avenida Giannattasio.
Solymar is located on the border between the departments of Montevideo and Canelones, about 25 kilometers from downtown Montevideo and about 50 kilometers from Punta del Este.
