Solymar is a Uruguayan city located in the department of Canelones, about 20 km east of Montevideo.
Known for its long beaches and lively nightlife, it is a popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists.
Among its main attractions are the Solymar beach, which has a wide strip of fine white sand, and the Solís Chico Stream, ideal for water sports such as kayaking or fishing.
The city has a good tourist infrastructure, with several hotels, restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a wide range of recreational activities.
To get to Solymar you can take the Interbalnearia Route from Montevideo and then continue along Route 102 until you reach the city.
It can also be accessed from other towns in Canelones or from the neighboring Costa de Oro.
