Salto is a city located in the north of Uruguay, on the banks of the Uruguay River and near the border with Argentina.
It is located about 490 km from Montevideo, the country's capital, and approximately 260 km from Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital.
The city of Salto is located in a region known as "thermal littoral", due to its many hot springs that attract tourists throughout the year.
In addition, the city has an important production of citrus and blueberries in the surroundings.
