Ombúes de Lavalle is a small city in the department of Colonia.
It was founded in 1752 and has several historical buildings from the colonial era.
In addition, it is known for its beautiful natural landscape, which includes streams and extensive plains. Among its main tourist attractions are the parish church of San Luis Rey, the Plaza de la Libertad and the Municipal Historical Museum.
It is also a city rich in typical Uruguayan gastronomy, such as roasts and meat empanadas.
To get to Ombúes de Lavalle you can take a bus from Montevideo or Colonia, or drive along National Route 21.
