Mercedes is a Uruguayan city located in the department of Soriano, about 250 km west of Montevideo.
The most common way to get there is by car, since the city is connected by road to Montevideo and other major cities in the country.
It can also be reached by bus from the Tres Cruces terminal in Montevideo, with several companies offering daily services.
Another option is to take the ferry that connects the city of Carmelo with the Argentine city of Tigre, and from there take a bus or a car to get to Mercedes.
