How to get to Maldonado

To get to the city of Maldonado in Uruguay, you have several options, depending on where you are currently located and your transportation preferences. Here are some options:

By plane: If you are coming from outside of Uruguay, your best option is to take a flight to the Carrasco International Airport, which is located in Montevideo, the capital of the country. From there, you can take a bus or a taxi to Maldonado, which is about 130 kilometers away.

By bus: If you are in Uruguay, you can take a bus from Montevideo or from other major cities in the country. There are several bus companies that offer regular services to Maldonado and Punta del Este, which is a nearby tourist town. The bus trip usually takes about 2 and a half hours from Montevideo.

By car: If you have your own car or rent one, you can reach Maldonado by road. From Montevideo, you must take Ruta Interbalnearia (Route 9) to Punta del Este and then continue on Route 10 towards Maldonado. The journey by car takes about 2 hours.
