Dolores is a city located in the department of Soriano, Uruguay.
With a population of around 18,000, it is known for its rich history and culture.
The city has numerous tourist attractions, including its main square, Plaza Constitución, which houses the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Spanish Theater, declared a National Historic Heritage.
You can also visit the Museum of the Revolution, which traces the history of the popular uprising of 1825, and the Agroecological and Technological Park of Uruguay, a space for production, education and rural tourism.
Getting to Dolores can be done by road, through National Route 2, which connects it with Montevideo (250 km) and other nearby cities such as Mercedes (35 km).
The city also has a train station that connects with the capital and other cities in the interior of the country.
Dolores is located on the right bank of the Uruguay River, in the center-east of the department of Soriano, bordering to the north with the department of Río Negro, to the east with Flores, to the south with Colonia and to the west with from San jose.
