Cuchilla Alta is a town located in the department of Artigas, north of Uruguay.
It is located about 90 kilometers from the city of Artigas and about 70 kilometers from the city of Salto.
It limits to the north with Brazil, to the east with the department of Rivera, to the south with the department of Salto and to the west with the department of Artigas.
Its strategic location makes it an important trade and transit center between Uruguay and Brazil. The landscape of the region is dominated by the Blade Hills, which rise above the flat terrain surrounding the town.
