Colonia del Sacramento is a city located in the southwest of Uruguay, on the north bank of the Río de la Plata.
It is located about 177 km west of Montevideo and 50 km east of the Argentine city of Buenos Aires.
The city is known for its colonial historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995, which is located on the peninsula formed by the Uruguay River and the China stream.
In addition, it has beaches, wineries and nautical activities in its surroundings.
