Atlantida is a town and seaside resort located south of the department of Canelones, on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, and at km 45 of the Interbalnearia route.
It limits the west with the resort of Villa Argentina, east of Las Toscas and the north with Atlantis Station.
It is 45 km from Montevideo, and less than 30 kms Carrasco International Airport is easily accessible from Route Interbalnearia.
Some of the main attractions are:
- The Parish of Christ Obrero, is a church built by Eladio Dieste, striking architecture.
- The Eagle is located in the resort Villa Argentina, west and next to Atlantis, is an enigmatic and attractive stone building that gave rise to several popular legends. It can be seen from different points, built by Natalio Michellizzi. Originally, it was called "The Chimera".
- The beaches are noted for being lined with pine trees. East Son La Brava and La Mansa west.
